Brembo is a world leader in the design, development and production of braking systems and components for cars, motorbikes, industrial vehicles and machinery, for the OE market, after-market and racing.

Brembo’s constant quest for innovation calls for new technologies, new materials, new shapes and new markets; product performance is accompanied by the search for a unique style in line with the design of the equipped vehicles.

Today the company operates in 16 countries on 3 continents, with 24 production and business sites, and a pool of about 7.700 employees; close on 10% of whom are engineers and product specialists involved in research and development.

Research at Brembo is conducted at the Research & Development Centre, which has also been involved since 2002 in mechatronics, a border science that combines mechanics, electronics and informatics. The Brembo headquarter is situated in the Kilometro Rosso Science and Technology Park next to the A4 motorway just outside Bergamo. Kilometro Rosso is a centre of excellence hosting companies, research centres, laboratories, high-tech manufacturing concerns and services dedicated to innovation.

The training activities during the NEWSPEC Summer Course will be performed in collaboration with Brembo SGL Carbon Ceramic Brakes (BSCCB). BSCCB is engaged in the design, development, production and sale of braking systems in general and more specifically of brake discs made of Carbon-Ceramic Material (CCM) mounted on high performance cars, as well as in research and development of new materials and applications. BSCCB can rely on two production facilities for carbon ceramic material brake discs, one in Stezzano (Italy, near Bergamo) and one in Meitingen (Germany, near Augsburg).
