Dallara was founded by its current president, Gian Paolo Dallara, who, after working for Ferrari, Maserati, Lamborghini and De Tomaso , wanted to continue pursuing his dream of working in the world of racing cars and so in the town of his birth,  Varano de Melegari (Parma) , establishes ” Dallara Automobili da Competizione” in 1972.

The successes in Formula 3, first in Italy and then throughout the world, the acclaim in America with IndyCar, consultancy for major manufacturers, the continued focus on technology and innovation have led the company to be one of the most important worldwide, specialized in designing, manufacturing and development of racing cars and searching for the highest standards of quality, performance, safety, and customer support.

The core competencies that characterize Dallara are the following : design using carbon fiber composite materials, aerodynamics by means of wind tunnel and CFD, vehicle dynamics through simulations and testing, and fast and flexible production of high quality prototypes.

The company is able to produce almost every part of the car by making use of a large technological park, from the structural work to the heat treatments, from the traditional machine tools to the numerical control machinery of the latest generation, up to the manufacturing of composite parts.

In recent years the engineering activities have expanded, both for racing cars and for high-performance road cars. The consultancy services offered by Dallara are used by some of the most important international carmakers, including: Alfa Romeo, Audi, Bugatti, Ferrari, KTM, Lamborghini, Maserati and many others that cannot be mentioned due to confidentiality agreements.
